A leading player in the healthcare and pharmaceutical consumer goods sector—with global operations and rigorous regulatory obligations—sought to modernize its core IT landscape by migrating complex SAP and Oracle-based applications to AWS. The organization supports a wide range of business processes with high requirements for uptime, compliance, and operational scale.
Customer Challenges
Operating on legacy, on-premises infrastructure posed several difficulties:

Quantum Integrators Solution
To address these needs, Quantum Integrators deployed a secure, automated, and highly available AWS environment custom-built for the client’s demanding ERP applications. Secure AWS account governance was established via enforced MFA, CloudTrail logging across all regions, precise IAM policies, and auditable, SSO-based access. All networking was protected through micro-segmented security groups and network ACLs, complemented by web-facing protections using AWS WAF,Shield, and continuous monitoring via VPC Flow Logs and GuardDuty.
Application and database stacks—including SAP on Linux and Oracle enterprise databases—were fully provisioned using parameterized Terraform templates orchestrated by CI/CD pipelines. Automated peer review, instance hardening, and configuration ensured operational consistency, while routine playbooks guided ongoing tasks and troubleshooting. The solution leveraged AWS Auto Scaling Groups across availability zones for high availability; Oracle Data Guard enabled synchronous replication and disaster recovery across regions, with regular drills validating resilience.
The environment integrated deep monitoring: Amazon CloudWatch tracked detailed infrastructure and application metrics, third-party tools monitored Oracle performance, and automated alarms triggered proactive, scripted responses to incidents. Security was reinforced with default encryption at rest and in transit for all data, centralized key management, and standardized activity logging.
Pre-migration TCO analysis identified cost savings and value drivers. Executive stakeholders were presented with modeled scenarios highlighting improved agility, risk reduction, and operating efficiencies as business justification for cloud adoption.
Results and Benefits
The shift to AWS delivered transformational results. Environment provisioning time dropped from several weeks to minutes owing to automation. The customer realized a 12x improvement in database backup and restore speed, with critical RTO windows shrinking to under two hours. Automated monitoring and self-healing greatly reduced unplanned downtime, and security posture was elevated with audited, least-privilege access and native encryption. Standardized processes and cloud-native toolchains enabled over a 30% reduction in annual IT infrastructure costs, improved audit readiness, and empowered the business with new operational flexibility to adjust for market changes and seasonal demand.
